Three lanes were blocked on 580 Highway in Oakland when motorcyclist and a Silver Mercedes Benz have collided. California Highway Patrol tried to remove the obstacle from a 580 Freeway during morning hours commute. Many people were late to their jobs because of this Oakland accident.
AT about 8 am a motorcycle and Mercedes crashed on westbound direction of 580 Freeway near West MacArthur Boulevard Exit, CHP officer stated. Some of the witnesses have provided additional information that other vehicles were involved could have been the cause of this accident. Local firefighter have arrived first at the scene and assisted injured with the first help till Ambulance have arrived. Motorcyclist was a female, who was taken to the nearest hospital E.R. The extend of her injuries was unknown at the time.
Just after 8 a.m., a silver Mercedes and a motorcycle crashed on westbound Interstate Highway 580, just west of West MacArthur Boulevard, CHP Officer John Short said. A witness said it appeared several other vehicles might also have been involved. Short said an off-duty firefighter reported the crash and began assisting victims before emergency crews arrived. The motorcyclist, a female, is being taken to a hospital, CHP Officer Sam Morgan said. He did not know the extent of her injuries. Three lanes have been closed while the accident is cleared, Short said.
